After weeks in the making, Rubislaw Park Care Home is delighted to announce the opening of its very own Sensory Room. The room has been a hit with residents, with many visiting for some quiet relaxation therapy.
Whilst our Sensory Room will be accessible for all residents to use and a great location for many activities, the space will be particularly beneficial for those of our residents who receive Dementia Care or Nursing Care.
A Sensory Room has many benefits and is a great addition to the offering we have here at Rubislaw Park. It provides a calm, soothing space with a variety of interactive elements that help stimulate the senses, increase awareness and promote the use of motor skills.
As well as offering residents this quiet space to unwind and relax, and one-to-one activity sessions, elsewhere in the home we are always hosting group activities for those who want to socialise or take part in more physical activities.
Our activities team considers every resident's preferences and interests to ensure that our activities programme offers something for everyone. We are proud to provide residents with an environment where they can receive the support they need and when they need it, whilst also being encouraged to live life independently, continue with the hobbies they have always loved, and experience new things.
If you would like further information about the use of our Sensory Room, the other facilities we have here at Rubislaw Park, or the range of care services we provide, then please get in contact with our friendly team who will be happy to answer any of your questions.
