Residential Care Home in Aberdeen

Rubislaw Park is a private, all-inclusive care home situated in the desirable location of the West End of Aberdeen. Our home also provides Nursing Care, Dementia Care and Respite Care for up to 86 residents who require specialist or elderly care. We are proud of our person-centred approach to care, our exceptional onsite facilities, and the homely environment we have to offer both our existing residents and prospective residents.

What is a Residential Care Home?

A residential care home offers accommodation, 24/7 care, and access to a variety of on-site amenities to elderly individuals and those who experience difficulty in living independently. This setting also provides “group living,” making it a fantastic choice for those who would rather not live alone or prefer being in the company of others.

Our care team is available day and night to assist with personal care, medication management, mobility, and communication needs. Some facilities like this may also provide some additional care types, such as nursing care, dementia care, respite care, and palliative care.

Residents can carry on with their everyday lives while being relieved of their household responsibilities and knowing that our team is on hand to provide exceptional care and support. Additionally, medical services such as physiotherapy appointments and GP visits can be arranged with the help of staff. All meals are given, along with social events and day trips.

Our Care Home in Aberdeen

At Rubislaw Park, we highly value both our residents’ quality of care and quality of life. We support older people in a warm and comforting environment, where they can spend each day however they wish, with as little or as much assistance as they need from our teams. Our home also provides a range of on-site facilities which we encourage each and every resident to take advantage of, from our hair salon and treatment room to our private gardens, dining rooms and cinema. We want to make sure our residents not only get out in the local community but have plenty to do in the comfort of their own home, and with the support of our teams and our inclusive wellbeing programme, residents can lead a happy, active, and social lifestyle. No matter our residents age or interests, there is something for everyone at Rubislaw Park.

When it comes to making the decision to move yourself or a loved one into a care home, we understand just how difficult it can be to find the right home. We know how important it is to find the best care that is appropriate for your needs, that’s why before moving into Rubislaw Park, we offer prospective residents and those closest to them the opportunity to meet our Home Manager directly for a consultation, and so that we can offer our advice and guidance on what is the right care for you.

Once a resident becomes a part of the Rubislaw Park family, we provide them with a custom care plan which has taken into consideration their specific medical and wellbeing needs. These care plans are regularly monitored and adapted as requirements change, so residents and their loved ones can remain confident that we always provide the most appropriate care for them. Our care home staff are committed to providing exceptional standards in everything we do, and our home is inspected by the Care Inspectorate, a regulatory body that ensures health and social care services in Scotland are providing safe and high-quality care.

Life In and Around Aberdeen

Our residential care home in Aberdeen benefits from a plethora of things to see and do in and around the local community. Whilst our home offers a variety of facilities for our residents to fill their days with, our inspiring team of Activity Coordinators goes to great lengths to plan outings for our residents to get out and explore.

Our home is fortunately located just a 12-minute drive from Aberdeen City Centre, and here, residents and their family and friends have access to a world of history, culture, and cuisine at their fingertips. Recommended as the top attraction in Aberdeen City by TripAdvisor the Aberdeen Maritime Museum is a must-see for anyone in the area, as it offers people the opportunity to learn about the city’s long and famed history with the sea, including trading and fishing. Also highly-rated and a firm favourite amongst our existing residents is the quaint neighbouring village of Footdee (locally known as Fittie) which is also just a short walk from Aberdeen Beach. Within this vicinity, residents can grab some fresh air on a sunny day, take their grandchildren to the leisure park, or have a lovely family meal in one of the many eateries.

Aberdeen is also famed for its number of whisky distilleries and we have plenty of residents that live with us who enjoy a tipple now and then. If their health allows then we will sometimes take residents to enjoy an afternoon at Royal Lochnagar Distillery. For those who enjoy the great outdoors and tranquil views of nature, the opportunities in Aberdeen are endless. Within an hour of Rubislaw Park, residents can enjoy the likes of Glen Tanar National Nature Reserve and Scolty Hill, both great for walking, stunning views and admiring wildlife.
