We are delighted to announce we are adding to our industry awards with a new accolade in recognition of Rubislaw’s work.
During a recent awards ceremony in York, we beat off stiff competition to scoop the Catering Team of the Year in the Caring UK Awards. We were also shortlisted in the Dementia Care Team category.
The awards, organised by Script Evans and leading industry publication Caring UK, with support from headline sponsor Clydesdale/Yorkshire Bank, recognise excellence, innovation and achievement in all corners of the industry.
To come out on top, we went through a rigorous assessment process, which involced a site visit by a member of the awards’ team who toured the facility, chatted to residents and staff and examined all areas of the business from CQC reports to nutritional knowledge towards meals.
Detailed reports were then compiled and passed on to an expert judging panel which included Professor Martin Green OBE of Care England, Nadra Ahmed OBE DL of the National Care Association, Raj Kapoor of Alzheimer’s Society and Industry Expert John Kennedy, who decided the winners in each category from the shortlists.
The Caring UK accolade adds to our recent success in the 2017 Scottish Care Home Awards where our catering team picked up the honours in the Nutrition & Eating Well category.
Commenting on our success, our Director of Care Kristin Jackson-Brown said: “Winning this award is an exciting end to a wonderful year for everyone on the team. Our catering team works tirelessly to deliver services of an exceptionally high standard and this win is great recognition for their tremendous efforts, day in and day out.”
Caring UK Awards event director Judith Halkerston added: “All our winners have had an arduous journey to this point – the standard of entries was overwhelming and every facility that walked away with an award should be extremely proud.
“Our awards’ night was an amazing celebration of the caring industry as a whole – it was lovely to see everyone having such a great time and receiving the recognition that they rightly deserve.”
