Our Team

Our Care Team at Rubislaw Park also includes two Deputy Managers, one for Clinical Care and one for Residential Care and a Psychiatric Nurse, who leads the team on the Dementia Unit. Senior staff are closely supported by very experienced Team Leads and Carers.

All staff follow a very robust development programme and are actively encouraged to improve skills and knowledge through ongoing training and opportunities. Our staff are supported and developed to be the best in their field and are therefore empowered to deliver exceptional levels of care at all times.


Gayle Bain, Manager

Gayle Bain

As a Registered General Nurse for over 25 years, Gayle has managed within several acute clinical settings and is passionate about delivering the very highest standards of care.

Striving to ensure care needs are not only met but exceed expectations is of paramount importance to Gayle and her team at Rubislaw Park Care Home.

Gayle has a keen interest in governance and quality and has worked hard throughout her career to build strong relationships with wider organisations with the aim of continuously improving care standards.

Previously, Gayle held the posts of Associate Lecturer in Nurse Education and Practice at Robert Gordon University, and, also as Director of Clinical Services within a private surgical hospital.

At Rubislaw Park, no two days are the same. As well as spending lots of quality time with residents, Gayle chairs two daily meetings with the clinical and operational team to develop a clear plan that safeguards the smooth running of every department.



Damien Jarvis, Catering Manager

Damien Jarvis

Damien, who lives in Aberdeen with his family, joined the team at Rubislaw Park in 2015 and has many years catering experience.

Working his way up through the ranks in fine dining kitchens, Damien has previously worked as Commis Chef, Apprentice Chef and Head Chef, working all over Britain and abroad. Damien also trained with the Junior Scottish Culinary Team during his Apprenticeship with Macdonald Hotels.

At Rubislaw Park, Damien is responsible for planning, organising and developing the food and beverage service, including breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the wider offering that is available to residents.

This includes the private dining facility, where residents and their family or friends can enjoy a specially prepared meal as part of the all-inclusive cost. Damien also keeps the bar well stocked and caters for events, where required.

Damien prides himself in catering for residents and guests to the very highest standard.

There is always a focus on providing delicious and nutritious meals, with the best quality ingredients, sourced locally where possible.
