Welcome to Rubislaw Park
With over 20 years of nursing experience in the voluntary and private sectors and statutory services, I am delighted to have the opportunity to continue to lead the team at Rubislaw Park.
I have been with the service since June 2016 and directly supported the team to achieve two Grade 6 outcomes from last Care Inspectorate inspection. When not actively involved in the day to day running of Rubislaw Park, I can be found putting up a tent with my family, exploring the historical north east or playing table tennis.
Damien Jarvis, Catering Manager
Hi I’m Damien Jarvis, Catering Manager at Rubislaw Park. I live in Aberdeen, and my pride and joy is my 2 year old daughter, Ellie!
Over the past 16 years I’ve worked my way up through the ranks in fine dining kitchens – from Comis Chef and Apprentice Chef to Head Chef, working all over Britain and abroad. I’ve tried my hand at some culinary competitions, too, training with the Junior Scottish Culinary Team during my Apprenticeship with Macdonald Hotels.
I’m responsible for planning, organising and developing the food and beverage service in all areas of Rubislaw Park, including not only breakfast, lunch and dinner, but the wider offering we have for our residents. This includes our private dining offering – where residents and their family or friends can enjoy a meal in our exclusive private dining room as part of our all-inclusive care. I make sure our bar is well stocked and cater for events, too!
For me, my main focus is to cater for our residents and guests to the highest standard, and I spend a lot of time training my Catering Team to ensure we are able to deliver the very best at all times. Our focus is always to provide delicious and nutritious meals, with the highest quality ingredients, sourced locally where we can! I’m passionate about good customer service, and part of this is working with our residents to find out about their preferred tastes and ensure we cater for them - I welcome all suggestions!
